I was very attached my tattered old oven mitts, we had a long time together, roasting and baking, but alas, they were too tired to keep soldiering on. It was time for the new kid on the block to enter the picture and take over protecting my hands (and now arms) from the heat of the kitchen. Now, all joking aside, these are formidable oven mitts. I do a lot of baking and have often burned myself, but these cover more of my forearms than my old mitts covered. They are heavy without weighing you down and the non-slip surface has already saved me from having things slip as I'm lifting them out of the oven. The only thing I'm having trouble adjusting to is the puppet-like design, seriously could have a puppet show with these. My old mitts were hand-shaped and had a thumb; these do not. It will take some adjusting to, but I'm confident that with all the use these mitts will get, I'll adjust fast. These are truly fabulous mitts - my new best friends.
