Honest Review about Influenster ~ September 2016

Welcome to my channel!  This is my honest review of the Influenster sampling program. When you’re new you get great boxes, but the longer you are on with them it seems that you get less and less. Also, they don’t give you the opportunity to accept or decline, they just tell you they’re sending a box.  It’s possible that others have had different experiences than my own – this is purely my experience and opinion.

If you are interested in a sampling program, consider BzzAgent instead, a much better program.

Unboxing @Influenster #TryDry #Walmart VoxBox & Steep Wellness Tea

Welcome to my channel. Here is my unboxing of my Influenster #TryDry #Walmart VoxBox. I was provided with a Dove brand dry deodorant spray for free from Influenster to test and review. I promise to give my usual, unbiased opinion of the product.

The lovely people at Steep Wellness sent me a free full-size package of 14 Day Detox Tea. It’s caffeine free and detoxifies and promotes good health – that’s what the packaging says. I’ll try this tea and drink a cup every day, as they recommend, and will come back give a full, unbiased review of this product.

Beauty boxes I subscribe to – too many boxes again!  This is an ever fluctuating list - coming and going frequently. Now that Starlooks is eliminating the custom box for the look book only subscription, I'll be leaving them and going with another box.

Boxycharm - my favorite box
E.L.F. Play Beautifully Box - cruelty free and ships every other month
Ipsy - generous sample size and sometimes full size items
BeautyFix - mostly skin care and hair care
Walmart Beauty Box - seasonal (4 times a year), mostly samples with an occassional full size item
Birchbox - a great starter box with mostly travel size products
Allure Beauty Box - also a good starter box

Here are subscription boxes that I recently unsubscribed from:

PopSugar - random lifestyle thngs, very expensive box
Starlooks - cruelty free, great cosmetics

A boatload of beauty product #reviews

I tend to use a lot of different products and write my observations in a notebook (the Reviewer's Diary - literally). Below is a video I produced for my YouTube channel. See also, my separate comments typed at the bottom.

Here are the products I reviewed:

Clear Scalp & Beauty, Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Brilliant Glossing Styling Cream, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, Thayers Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (also contains vitamin E), Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum with Vitamin C, E, and Hyaluronic Acid, Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol, Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 Age Smart,  Lancome Regenerie Lift Multi-Action Lifting and Firming Cream, Crabtree & Evelyn La Source body wash and lotion, Klorane Shampoo with desert date

My YouTube Video:

Product comments:

Clear Scalp & Beauty Therapy – made my hair super soft and silky to the touch. My dry scalp didn’t feel itchy and dry anymore after using this product.

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Brilliant Glossing Styling Cream (this is the only one of the three that I liked - the 2 oz size that I received goes for $7.99 at CVS - pricey for 2 oz)

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion - contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid - those ingredients are the reason the wrinkles on my hands completely disappeared. Around $10 on Amazon, or about $13 at CVS.

Thayers Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (also contains vitamin E) - I found this on Amazon for a little over $8. Feels great and cleanses well. I love this stuff!

Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum with Vitamin C, E, and Hyaluronic Acid - organic and cruelty free - costs about $48 on the Palmetto Derma website, but sometimes they have sales and sometimes you can find it a little cheaper on Amazon. This is so good, I can't live without it.

Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol - another product I can't live without. I bought mine through the Birchbox website, but this can also be purchased on the Paula's Choice website - price for 1.7 oz is around $30, Note: with the cold winter days, I add Pur-lisse with SPF as a last step.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 Age Smart - $65 on both Amazon and the Ulta website. I'm not a fan.

Lancome Regenerie Lift Multi-Action Lifting and Firming Cream, SPF 15 - I got this deluxe sample size that lasted me quite a while as part of a free with a purchase program with Lancome. It retails for 1.7 oz $95. It’s a good thing that I didn’t fall in love with it.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source body wash and lotion - prices on this vary wildly from website to website. Amazon and my local shop have a similar price - between $17 - $20 each. Mom loves this stuff, so I buy it for her at least once a year.

Klorane Shampooig au dattier du desert (Shampoo with desert date) - yup, that's what it says on the bottle. It got this full size, 6.7 oz bottle in my October Blush Beauty box. Around $15 dollars on Amazon and Blush (Dermstore.com). I'm not in love.

Green Bark Gummies - My doggies love these! #Swaggable

I was very happy to receive a full size bag of these treats through Swaggable for my dogs to try. My dogs were so delighted by these treats that my nine-year-old German Shepherd actually galloped around the house after getting them. They absolutely love them.

They are dark green/brown treats that are loosely shaped like gummy bears, They have the feel of jerky and they don't smell great to us humans, but the dogs thought they were wonderful. I especially like that these treats don't contain any wheat, corn, or artificial flavors or sweeteners. My dogs find these treats positively delicious, and I feel like I'm giving them a healthy treat. I clearly need to buy these when this free sample runs out.

Here's a video I posted on YouTube about this product:

CeraVe Baby Wash and Shampoo - Great as an adult face wash

Yeah, that's right. I said adult face wash.

I don't have a baby at home, but I have very sensitive, dry skin. I also have been using other CeraVe products for a while now and love them, especially the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, which I have used on my face and body. So, it was a natural thing for me to pick this CeraVe baby wash to try on my face.

I've been using it every day (both morning and night) since I got it (about a week). My skin comes out soft and very balanced - neither feeling dry or oily, which makes this pretty darn perfect as a face wash. This has a different, very light scent from other baby products. There is no powdery baby scent to it. It has a very light, nondescript scent that smells clean, but doesn't linger. The texture of the baby wash is smooth and just one pump is enough for your entire face.

I may have just found the perfect face wash! One other pro on this product, and all CeraVe products, is that it is also cruelty free. Great stuff.

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Amazon Vine to test and review. My reviews, however, are not influenced by whether an item is free or if I purchased it.

BzzAgent - primo site for free products to test and review

BzzAgent sends you an invitation to try a product and once you agree and receive the product, you complete multiple social media reviews. It's not too hard, and the more activities you participate in, the better your chances of getting more free product offers. Of course, you have to join BzzAgent first.

This is a set of free Crest Be toothpastes they sent me for free to test and review:

Here are two videos about my experience with Crest Be, supplied to me for free to try and review by BzzAgent.

Here's the unboxing:

Influenster Surf's Up Vox Box #SurfsUpVoxBox

First, Influenster is a company that sends out free samples of products to try. The hope is that you will review them and like them enough to purchase the full-size products. It's fairly key that you need to be on social media sites to qualify. You are scored by your internet influence, but you don't have to have a tremendously high score to qualify.

I got my first box today and really like just about everything in the box... though I'm not fond of orange, I will try that orange nail polish  :-)

I got some really cool products. I'm most excited about the Hawaiian Tropic after sun lotion. I'll use it the entire week I'm visiting Mom in Florida next week and post a review. The little bit I tried, shows me that it feels good and smells good already.

Here is the YouTube unboxing video for this box:

Stay tuned for reviews for each product!
