A boatload of beauty product #reviews

I tend to use a lot of different products and write my observations in a notebook (the Reviewer's Diary - literally). Below is a video I produced for my YouTube channel. See also, my separate comments typed at the bottom.

Here are the products I reviewed:

Clear Scalp & Beauty, Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Brilliant Glossing Styling Cream, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, Thayers Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (also contains vitamin E), Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum with Vitamin C, E, and Hyaluronic Acid, Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol, Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 Age Smart,  Lancome Regenerie Lift Multi-Action Lifting and Firming Cream, Crabtree & Evelyn La Source body wash and lotion, Klorane Shampoo with desert date

Product comments:

Clear Scalp & Beauty Therapy – made my hair super soft and silky to the touch. My dry scalp didn’t feel itchy and dry anymore after using this product.

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Brilliant Glossing Styling Cream (this is the only one of the three that I liked - the 2 oz size that I received goes for $7.99 at CVS - pricey for 2 oz)

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion - contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid - those ingredients are the reason the wrinkles on my hands completely disappeared. Around $10 on Amazon, or about $13 at CVS.

Thayers Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera (also contains vitamin E) - I found this on Amazon for a little over $8. Feels great and cleanses well. I love this stuff!

Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum with Vitamin C, E, and Hyaluronic Acid - organic and cruelty free - costs about $48 on the Palmetto Derma website, but sometimes they have sales and sometimes you can find it a little cheaper on Amazon. This is so good, I can't live without it.

Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol - another product I can't live without. I bought mine through the Birchbox website, but this can also be purchased on the Paula's Choice website - price for 1.7 oz is around $30, Note: with the cold winter days, I add Pur-lisse with SPF as a last step.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 Age Smart - $65 on both Amazon and the Ulta website. I'm not a fan.

Lancome Regenerie Lift Multi-Action Lifting and Firming Cream, SPF 15 - I got this deluxe sample size that lasted me quite a while as part of a free with a purchase program with Lancome. It retails for 1.7 oz $95. It’s a good thing that I didn’t fall in love with it.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source body wash and lotion - prices on this vary wildly from website to website. Amazon and my local shop have a similar price - between $17 - $20 each. Mom loves this stuff, so I buy it for her at least once a year.

Klorane Shampooig au dattier du desert (Shampoo with desert date) - yup, that's what it says on the bottle. It got this full size, 6.7 oz bottle in my October Blush Beauty box. Around $15 dollars on Amazon and Blush (Dermstore.com). I'm not in love.

CVS Beauty Haul May 24, 2014 - 95% L'oreal Revitalift Anti-Aging Products

Well, I had a fun time shopping for beauty products today - spent a little too much money, but came away with some great stuff.

I used the Revitalift products tonight - the cloths, face wash, eye cream, and night cream. In between I put on 5 drops of the oil, which soaked right in. My face feels slightly itchy in a couple spots, but not terrible. ... and I haven't turned red  :-)

See my video about these products below:

Review of Sonya Dakar Flash Facial Exfoliating Treatment

So here I am again reviewing another item that came in my May 5, 2014, Sample Society box. This is truly awesome stuff, but it carries a very high price tag.

Review of Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream SPF 30

I really wanted to love this product. Unfortunately, I didn't like it at all. See my video review below:

Sample Society May 2014 box reveal

So, I was highly anticipating getting my first Sample Society box (by BeautyBar.com). Unfortunately it was smaller than expected.

I really shouldn't have been surprised at the small size of these samples

I have shopped Beauty Bar in the recent past, while waiting for my first box to arrive, and found that the site is loaded with top shelf brands. I was also very pleased with the quality, selection, and price. All of the products are high end, so I should have expected that the samples I would receive would not be very large, though apparently you sometimes get a pleasant surprise of a full size item like nail polish or an eye pencil.

Watch my video below for the full box reveal:

Please excuse all the throat clearing - I was recovering from a bad case of walking pneumonia.

A great video to watch and share!

A super fun video - makes you think about the peace we could all have with each other no matter where we live.

Some fun stuff...

I was wandering the world of YouTube - one of my favorite places - and found this YouTube post by Jackson Pearce about finding the time to write. Aside from the humor of her video blog piece, she also has some good, sound advice to share.

Frustrated writer ... frustrated student ....

This is the busiest time of the semester. I have a paper to write and a PowerPoint presentation to do for one class and begin researching and writing a paper for another class. I won't have any time today to work on my novel revisions. Very frustrating...

Then I went in search of something to post to inspire writers out there and ended up being inspired myself! I found a short YouTube video posted by William Kenower called Inspiring Authors. It was so inspiring, that I plan to work on the revisions of the novel tonight after I finish doing the homework above.
