Two product reviews ~ Maple Holistics vitamin C serum & Triple Bristle electric toothbrush @MapleHolistics

The real star of the show here is the Maple Holistics Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum. I've been using it daily for almost two months and do see a difference in the smoothness of my skin. The price is very competitive. I like this so much that I'll be buying it when the bottle is empty.

A short review appears below. I plan to feature a longer review in the future. Look below the YouTube video for links to see the product page and to their sampling program.

Review ~ Abeauty Anti-Aging Face Cream, my new best friend

Abeauty Wrinkles & Lines Lifting Pulchra Anti Aging Night Face Cream, Grapes, 1.7 Fluid Ounce

I fell completely in love with this cream the first time I tried it. First, it's cruelty free, which already gave it a huge leg up on the competition. Mainly, however, the quality of this cream is fantastic. It comes in a nice little glass jar and at 1.7 ounces, it's about the same size as most other high end and drug store brand creams. It has such a mild fragrance that you can barely smell it. It's smooth and lovely, and gently applied, sank right into my face and neck, leaving my skin feeling softly moisturized, but not greasy. A small amount goes a long way, which does help with the hefty price tag. Only time will tell whether it truly makes a difference with anti-aging, but it is loaded with ingredients that are really good for your skin. This is immediately going on my wishlist - I can see myself buying this again, over and over. It's that nice.

Review for Vichy Aquila Thermal Night Spa cream

I love this stuff! I just wish it was cruelty free...  Anyway, I had the wonderful opportunity to try this night spa cream/gel and really enjoy it. The instructions say to put on a thick layer and rub in - depends on your definition of "thick" - I use a little more than the amount I would use of my standard facial moisturizer, sort of like you made a mistake and put too much on. I rubbed gently into my skin and go to sleep. I wake up with such smooth soft skin it is amazing. I have dry skin that tends to react to everything - the only reaction I had to this product was, ah so soft. It visibly improved moisture and overall appearance of my skin. And one side note, I have used it in the morning as a super moisturizer too after using my cleansing brush and it moisturizes beautifully, so you don't have to restrict yourself to night use only.

Unboxing ~ Allure Beauty Box ~ December 2015 #AllureBeautyBox @Allure_magazine

Welcome back to my channel . I had put Allure on hiatus, and while trying to figure out which three boxes I wanted to keep (for now), I chose Allure. Sadly, I did unsubscribe from some boxes that I really liked. Anyway, this is a truly fabulous box. Also, apparently the January box is going to be amazing.

Unboxing ~ Horrible BeautyFix box ~ July 2015

So, after months of watching great BeautyFix boxes going out, I decided to subscribe. I was already a Dermstore customer and had gotten the Blush Beauty Mystery Box in the past, so subscribing was super easy on a quick phone call to customer service. I had already missed the June box, a great box, but was so excited about the July box. Then the box arrived and it was horrible. The company promises you that products in the box will be worth at least $100 dollars and most of the July box was absolutely worthless samples, including tubes that are labelled as samples and don’t even have the amount of product listed anywhere – pretty much hollow tubes. ***I did get a refund and I hope others will be requesting their refunds as well.

See the video for details on what I got in this box.

and yes, I did make that face for the camera  :-)

Tarte Amazonian Clay - really full coverage / Tarte Maracuja Concealer - takes practice to use @tartecosmetics

Okay, so I appear completely without makeup on YouTube to do a test of Tarte foundation and concealer. This takes guts because my dark circles are horrendous. In this video, I do an on-screen test of Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation (in Fair Light Honey) and Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (in Light).  I also demo Tarte’s Away Oui Go Portable Palette and collector’s set – I actually got this for my birthday in December.

The final result for the concealer was that it was overly thick, but with practice I was able to use it again (after this video was recorded) and the result was much better. It also truly remained creaseless. The foundation gives fairly heavy coverage that worked out better later, with a lighter touch. I am also now using my eye shadows and blushes more.

Full review Palmetto Derma product line

I have loved the Collagen Booster serum from Palmetto Derma ever since I received it in a Boxycharm box. Since then I have purchased more, and also purchased the Intensive Hydration on the advice of my daughter, who also got the collagen booster in her Boxycharm box. Palmetto Derma was kind enough to provide a free sample of their eye cream. This is all lovely stuff. I did give the Intense Hydration to my daughter because she loves it and I’m not sure that I do. The eye cream is very nice and I've been using it morning and night with nice results.

I posted a full video review review of these Palmetto Derma products on YouTube:

First impressions - awesome beauty products #Ulta

With after holiday sales, I ended up with a ton of samples - mostly from Ulta. Everything I tried today was from Ulta sample packs with the exception of the Curl Keeper, which came from my January 2015 Birchbox.

The first thing I tried was the Hempz Coconut Fusion Herbal Body Wash. The sample pack made plentiful suds on my shower poof. It smelled absolutely lovely and left my skin feeling very soft. I followed that up with the Hempz Coconut Fusion Body Souffle - this is much more like a body butter. It's very thick and there was enough in the packet for my arms and legs - a little goes a long way. Both of these Hempz products were absolutely lovely - smelled wonderful and felt great. Having tried these samples, I think I would like to buy the full-size products.

Next was L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Golden Serum and L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Day Cream. This duo was in my Walmart Winter Beauty Box. First, the serum has an iridescent golden glow to it, which looked strange, but it's likely formulated to give you skin a glow to it. It worked, The day cream was fairly thick. My skin is dry, but I was surprised to feel a little over moisturized. I'm not sure I would purchase either of these products. They can't really compete with the system I'm using now anyway (Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster & Restoration Serum and Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol).

After my shower I gave myself a quick pedicure and after my polish was dry, I applied Le Couvent des Minimes Hiker's Foot Healer. What an absolutely wonderful product! This product deeply moisturized my tired, worn out feet and left them feeling really smooth and soft. I like this so much that I'm going to check the price on Ulta to see if it is affordable enough for me to buy it. It's made in France and is paraben free.

Finally, the last thing I tested today was Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper Gel. This was an item in my January 2014 Birchbox. It comes in an usual multi-use sample pack with a full ounce in it that will last me through several stylings. It is a pretty thin, watery gel that did style nicely without weighing my hair down. It had a very nice, light scent. Though very nice, I'm not sure how committed I feel about it. I have other styling gels and foams that are working very well. Still, I'll reserve judgement until I've had a longer period of time using it.

Until next, thanks for reading Reviewer's Diary.

Unsubscribed from Blush Beauty Mystery Box ~ now down to two great subsciptions

My December Blush Mystery Beauty Box was a jumble of stuff, including one repeat item. I gave them one more month to pick things up and make a good box, which they unfortunately failed to do. I was pretty ticked off to get the same acne face wash from December, in January's box.

I really loved this box when I first subscribed. It was a consistently great box full of great stuff. December and January showed a huge change... like someone was fired or quit, leaving the box without much in the way of curating.

Of course, now that I've unsubscribed, they will probably improve, but I still won't resubscribe. My vanity is full of stuff I still haven't used, and I'm still subscribed to Boxycharm and Birchbox - two absolutely great boxes!

Here's my Blush Mystery Beauty Box unboxing video for January 2015:

Going backward, here is my Blush Mystery Beauty Box unboxing video for December 2015:
