BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Full Size Upright Carpet Cleaner, 15489 - one fatal flaw

Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner

4 out of 5 stars

First, let me say, I love this carpet cleaner. I have two dogs and they make mistakes, that coupled with a cat who throws up, and you have a messy carpet. This shampooer does a beautiful job cleaning up the worst messes that have soaked into the carpet. We do a quick surface clean, then thoroughly vacuum, then use this shampooer. Still, there is some carpet fiber and dog hair that is unearthed by the shampooer, a testament to how deeply it cleans.

As you'll see in the pictures, the head pulls in those carpet fibers and hair, though most ball up on the carpet for removal later. The head comes off for cleaning; however, as you can see in the first picture it, the head gets pretty full of debris. The fatal flaw here it that you cannot open the top to remove the hair/debris. You can see in the second picture that I got a lot out with a pipe cleaner and a very slim tool I have. As soon as you hit the curve you're done. (If anyone knows how to take this apart to clean, please let me know.) Unfortunately, while it is superior in it's ability to clean pet messes up from the carpet, the shampooer is impossible to fully clean afterward.

Two product reviews ~ Maple Holistics vitamin C serum & Triple Bristle electric toothbrush @MapleHolistics

The real star of the show here is the Maple Holistics Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum. I've been using it daily for almost two months and do see a difference in the smoothness of my skin. The price is very competitive. I like this so much that I'll be buying it when the bottle is empty.

A short review appears below. I plan to feature a longer review in the future. Look below the YouTube video for links to see the product page and to their sampling program.

Review ~ Abeauty Anti-Aging Face Cream, my new best friend

Abeauty Wrinkles & Lines Lifting Pulchra Anti Aging Night Face Cream, Grapes, 1.7 Fluid Ounce

I fell completely in love with this cream the first time I tried it. First, it's cruelty free, which already gave it a huge leg up on the competition. Mainly, however, the quality of this cream is fantastic. It comes in a nice little glass jar and at 1.7 ounces, it's about the same size as most other high end and drug store brand creams. It has such a mild fragrance that you can barely smell it. It's smooth and lovely, and gently applied, sank right into my face and neck, leaving my skin feeling softly moisturized, but not greasy. A small amount goes a long way, which does help with the hefty price tag. Only time will tell whether it truly makes a difference with anti-aging, but it is loaded with ingredients that are really good for your skin. This is immediately going on my wishlist - I can see myself buying this again, over and over. It's that nice.

Product Review ~ Dermalogica Precleanse Oil ~ very nice, but not my favorite precleanse oil

Dermalogica Precleanse, 1 Ounce

I have been using cleansing oils as step one in my cleansing routine for a while now. Since I got a neat little set of Dermalogica products, I bought this little bottle of precleanse to test out whether Dermalogica will be my new favorite skin care - the jury is still out on that.

This oil is a nice light oil that you massage into your face before cleansing. It is water emulsified so after I massage it in I wet my hands, then rub the oil - it's really cool when it emulsifies. Then the routine dictates that you rinse that off, then proceed with the cleanser, which I do in the morning. At night, I do the emulsification step, but don't rinse off, then rub in cleanser and my skin feels super moisturized for bedtime. Though I like the precleanse, it is so similar to other oils I've used that water emulsify, and you rinse it off thus having any benefit run down the drain. Also, I've been using Almond Oil for years now and love it as a precleanse (my favorite is on the right) - it's not water emulsifying, but combines well with any cleanser I follow it up with and it has the side effect of my eyebrows getting thicker. I don't think I'll buy this expensive oil again - that's why this 1 ounce travel size worked out so well.  This was the perfect way to try before buying the big one.

Product Review ~ No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser & Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask

This is a product review for one of my favorite skincare items, a hot cloth cleanser that helps restore the moisture balance of your skin. This is awesome stuff.  I bought mine on the Ulta website – I’ve provided a link below (this is not a referral link) for both of the skincare items mentioned in the video, below. The cleanser is only available in the online store.

Product Review ~ Endlessly Beautiful Shea Butter Hand Cream ~ Lovely hand cream, ethically made, cruelty free

Endlessly Beautiful Fair Trade Shea Butter Hydrating Hand Cream-Perfect for Dry Chapped Hands, All Natural & Organic

This cream is my new superhero hand cream. I have others that are nice, but not very strong. When you spend a few hours washing dishes or cleaning, and your hands are really dry, regular hand cream requires multiple applications before it makes any difference at all. This cream restores lost moisture with one application.

This cream is thick and rich, with a slightly whipped consistency. It has only a very mild scent, likely from the ingredients only. It takes just a dime-size amount of this cream to completely restore your hands' moisture without having to reapply. Two other great attributes are that it is cruelty free and is Fair Trade (shea butter is from Africa). For my vegan friends: it does contain beeswax, so it is not vegan.

I was really impressed by this cream. First, I thought the price was a little bit high, but when I noticed with other creams that I have to reapply multiple times, where I only have to apply this once, I realize the cost is not such a big factor. This cream is absolutely lovely.

Product review - Belkin Power Rockstar Battery Pack

Belkin MFi Certified MIXIT Metallic 6600 mAh Power Rockstar Battery Pack with Dual USB Ports and Cable Storage, 1 x Lightning Cable and 1 x Micro USB Cable (Gold), Great for Pokemon Go

So there you are - the power has gone off because a tree hit a power line down the road. You phone isn't fully charged; your e-reader isn't fully charged; and your little book light battery is dead as a door nail because you haven't used it in so long. Sure, you can light a few candles, which can be fairly dangerous if you aren't careful. Sure, you have a few flashlights that might light up your world, at least for a couple hours. Out here where I live, we've gone long enough without power that we had to throw everything in the freezer and refrigerator out (that one was over 24 hours).

Enter, your battery pack device. I have AmazonBasics Portable Power Bank - 10,000 mAh
and have used it more times than I can count - even without the power out a battery pack is so useful. I read in bed, sometimes using my Nook reader, and if the battery runs low, I can easily plug it into the battery pack.

This is like my Amazon Basics device on steroids. It's easy to charge, it has a button you can push that gives an indicator of how much juice it has left, and it charges your device super fast. There is a very small 2 ended plug that stays in a magnetized area on the side. It's cool that it stores on the side, but I would have liked for the wire to be a little longer. As far as I can see, that literally the only fault I can find with this setup. This is the perfect little device.
