Fabulous Sample Society Box - September 2014 @BeautyBarDotCom

The people who put together the Sample Society box on BeautyBar.com have really outdone themselves once again. I was prepared to quit Sample Society, mainly because I get too many boxes, but they drew me back in with their total redesign of their boxes. They have definitely improved their selection, so they compete well now with other boxes.

Here is the September 2014 box I received:

Here's a video I made detailing my unboxing of the September 2014 Sample Society Box:

Sample Society June 2014 box - Individual Products Reviewed

So, I sampled all the products in my June 2014 Sample Society box one at a time so that they wouldn't affect each other when I was using them. I had a very mixed reaction - there were a few products that I didn't like at all, and only one product that I really loved.

The products included:

  • H20 Plus Night Oasis Oxygenating Rejuvenator
  • Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 2
  • Pur~Lisse Pur~Moist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer
  • Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Face Moisturizer (loved this)
  • Nicole Richie Fragrance Eau de Perfum
  • Juliette Has a Gun Anyway Eau de Parfum

I'm really not sure about keeping Sample Society. I think I'll give it one more month, and then decide.

See my video below for a review of each product:

Just joined another beauty box! Here's a recap of the others....

Well, heaven help me, I just joined another beauty box!  Now I subscribe to three, and got a gift subscription on one, bringing the grand total up to four beauty box/bag subscriptions!

Here's a recap:

I just joined Beauty Box 5 --> I used the promo code Free614 to get one box free. When my first box comes I'll make a video of the unboxing and review products.

The first beauty box I joined was Sample Society --> I've gotten two boxes so far and am less than enchanted with the most recent box. I'll give them another month. I really did like my first box though, so I'm hoping this is just a fluke.

June 2014 box
I've just received my first Ipsy Bag and absolutely love everything in it except the lip gloss - I never liked the sticky feel of lip gloss. This bag is a total winner and I'll probably subscribe to this bag for a long time.

June 2014 bag
I got a gift subscription of three months of Birchbox and really think I will probably make this permanent. I got two boxes so far and am very happy with everything they've sent so far!

June 2014 box

That makes four boxes!  I will likely cancel one soon .... Just can't afford this many boxes!

My June 2014 Sample Society box D - a HUGE disappointment

I looked forward to receiving this month's box all day. When I got home and opened it I was deeply disappointed.

Borghese, Spoiled, Neutrogena, Roc.... oh my

I finally tried the last item from my May 2014 Sample Society box... just in time for the next box to get shipped.

The Borghese sample was smaller than it appeared. It had a false bottom, so only the top portion held the product sample, while the base was just an empty space. This is a mistake by Borghese. If I had a more substantial sample, I may have considered buying the full size product, but I only had enough to try it once.

I also talk about nail polish and a new Neutrogena product in the following video:

Unfortunately the Neutrogena wash and toner were not a hit and I actually ended up with a couple small pimples. Sorry about the video quality of the short video below, but here goes...

Review of Murad T-Zone Pore Refining Serum

This was one of the samples in my May 2014, Sample Society box. I didn't have much hope for actually being able to get a feel for this product since the tube was so small. Not only did I get several uses out of it, but I saw a definite difference in my skin over the course of nearly a week (and I still have some product left). I like it so much that it prompted me to look at Beauty Bar and Amazon for other Murad products, namely something for anti-aging. First of all, as usual [with most items on Amazon] most of the Murad products cost a bit less. I did find quite a few Murad products with anti-aging properties on Amazon and Beauty Bar. I plan to buy one starter set in the near future and will, of course, review it after using it for a while.

Here's the tiny sample I received in my Sample Society box. It has lasted quite a long time.

Review of Sonya Dakar Flash Facial Exfoliating Treatment

So here I am again reviewing another item that came in my May 5, 2014, Sample Society box. This is truly awesome stuff, but it carries a very high price tag.
